I’m just going to babble here and see what comes out.
I agree with the bulk of what Prince Leonard says here, and I know precisely what he means about the mirrors. As Prince GI “Joe” Gurdjieff once said, humans see the world upside down (or inside out, outside in, or back to front), and this is because we’re looking into the wrong mirror – though in fact it’s not actually a “wrong” mirror, but the secondary mirror when there’s a primary mirror which we’re all missing to one degree or another (99.9% missing in most human cases). We view Life ‘backwards’, as if we’re looking directly at an ordinary household mirror, yet mistakenly believe that the reflection we’re viewing is the real world. It’s not. The real world – or Life – is beaming down from behind us (from deep, deep, deep within and even from beyond the psyche), but we project that Cosmic Intelligence into the outer world mirror and end up taking the reflection (which has its place in the Whole) as the primary reality when it’s not, it’s the secondary.
But we didn’t arrive at this stage through taking a wrong path, which Sage-Prince Leonard implies. Everything IS as it should be. If it wasn’t, the Beautiful Order (Cosmos) would collapse.
We self-reflective Earth-beings evolved from non-self-reflective beings (the unconscious is primary, ego-consciousness is secondary, though most humans taking the reflection to be the reality nearly always assume that we came into existence as we are now and that sub- and unconscious realms are mere dustbins). Original Man & Woman was not self-reflective but operated essentially as any other non-sentient being, instinctively. Our individual consciousnesses were instinctive. Without leaving that heritage or level of being-perception behind we nonetheless evolved from the instinctive to the emotional. This is where the idea of a ‘wrong turn’ comes in. Initially we as instinctive beings were One with the All, but as we OF NECESSITY on the quest of human evolution (which is vital to the Great Way) became self-reflective we inevitably entered the world of duality: we left the Garden through that evolution and became conscious of “good and evil”; ie: of all dualities which make up our psyches, bodies and the entire manifest Cosmos. We were ‘meant to be’ self-reflective – it wasn’t a wrong turn. But so far I’ve only touched on instinctive and emotional gradients of our evolution.
Beyond the emotional/territorial level is the level of true reason, and beyond that is the level of true intuition, which in itself opens up a further 4 stages of consciousness evolution. We each, now, operate one way or another or to one degree or another on all of these levels, Prince Leonard and his sagacious ilk having far easier access to the higher levels of consciousness than most of us. He’s still in touch with his instincts which have their vital place, but his magnetic centre of consciousness is in the high intuitional levels. In comparison most humans today are still magnetically centred in the emotional/territorial level (which is only stage 2 of an 8-fold journey). We can see this demonstrated in parliaments where parties emotionally vie with each other for territorial control, in a judicial system based on confrontation, in the media, business, sports, and in the enormous usage of the highly dangerous psycho-active consciousness altering drug, alcohol! This drug which specifically activates the emotional/territorial level is the most favoured by humanity at present as it best reflects the majority’s magnetic or gravitational centre of consciousness. Ergo, we’re actually a very unevolved species – which is something that emotional/territorial humans loathe to hear. We didn’t take any wrong turns, we’re just not yet very far down our road. And we know that we’re still a very young or recent species on this Arch-Glorious Motherworld, Our Lady of Space, the Beautiful Earth, so it shouldn’t come as a big surprise. Though unfortunately it does to most!
However, we as individual beings – all of us so Loved by our Beautiful Mother and by Her Great Great Grandfather, the Great Way – all have the opportunity, here and now (our parameters in space and time for experiential reality) to access these higher levels of consciousness, as does the most noble Sage-Prince Leonard and others of his so dearly needed ilk. All of our historic and contemporary great sages were and/or are just demonstrating where our species is eventually going: they ARE the future of human consciousness. They are just you, in a poetic sense, in a future incarnation. They are also precisely you in a different incarnation here and now. As one of my not very famous Waoist adages has it: “Wherever I look – only ‘I’ in different forms.”
Okay, I’m done babbling. Thus I leave you with another not very famous Waoist adage:
“Never forget: you are gorgeous.”

Great lesson. Might I suggest though, that there is perfection in that we look into this ‘wrong’ mirror. For it is only in looking into this ‘wrong’ mirror that we can come to know who we are not. And it is only through coming to know who we are not that we can experience the knowledge of that which we truly are and have always been. For until the abscence of truth has been known, how can truth be defined, known, or experienced?. Indeed in order that all that is, the perfection of infinite oneness might me known, it is necessary and perfect that that which is not- the illusion of humanity – might be known and experienced, that the truth of who we really are might be known.
